I believe that many capacities reveal themselves when a patient feels held within a safe and a warm environment that allows for growth. Listening together to the psychic themes in the patient’s inner world uncovers unconscious, non-rational processes that deepen the patient’s unique internal landscape. Through this, spaces of freedom open within their struggles creating meaning and a richer, uniquely subjective inner life.
